About Us

Jeff has been in public accounting for 38 years. Jeff is licensed to practice public accounting in Minnesota and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the North Dakota Society of Public Accountants. He is also an Enrolled Agent, which are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Jeff is a past president of the Mid-State Chapter of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jeff earned an Associates Degree from Northland Community and Technical College and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of North Dakota.

Jeff is married to his wife, Laura, and they have one daughter, Lauren, and a grandson, Tiernan (8). Jeff is an active member of the St. Patrick's church council, the Catholic Community Foundation board in the Diocese of Crookston, and other local community events. You can often find Jeff out golfing or spending time traveling and riding his motorcycle.

Mark has been in public accounting for over 40 years. Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is licensed to practice in both Minnesota and North Dakota.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University.  Mark is married to his wife, Deb, and they have six children, Jennifer, Anica, David, Soren, Rachel, and Nicole, and three grandchildren, Stella, Cora and Gus.

Mark is an active community member having served on the local school board and is continues to serve in his church and other local community events. He is also a board of director for PKM Electric Cooperative in Warren, MN.

Brett joined Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd in 2019 and became a shareholder in 2022. Brett current owns and operates Sobolik Financial.

Brett earned a degree from St. John's College in St. Cloud, MN.

Brett is married to his wife, Molly (Gustafson), and they have three children, Nora (10), Blake (9), and Josie (4). Brett is an active member of the community. He coaches youth hockey, serves on the board of directors for Hallock Youth Hockey, is a member of the Hallock Main Street Committee, serves on the finance council for Grace Lutheran Church, and participates in other local community events.

Jay joined Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd in 2021 and became a shareholder in 2022. Prior to joining Jay worked as a Ag/Business Banker at American Federal Bank in Hallock and Deloitte Tax LLC as a Senior Tax Consultant in Minneapolis, MN.

Jay is an alumni of the University of North Dakota. He earned a Bachelor's of Accountancy Degree in 2011.

Jay is married to his wife, Joni (Lindegard), and has two girls, Evelyn (7), and Vivian (4). He is a board of director for Spectra Health in Grand Forks, ND, a member of the St. Patrick's Church Parish Finance Council, a member of the Kittson Memorial Foundation Committee, a board of director for the Kittson County EDA, and a member of the Hallock Housing Committee. When Jay isn't busy looking up changing tax legislation he enjoys playing with his family, cooking, biking, golfing, basketball, curling, and softball.

Angie joined Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd in 2013. Prior to joining Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd, Angie worked at Hanson Manufacturing Inc in Lancaster, MN.

Angie is an alumni of Northland Community and Technical College (NCTC) located in East Grand Forks, MN. She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting in 2013.

Angie is married to her husband, Patrick, and they have two sons, Carter (11) and Brody (9). They live on a farmstead just outside of Hallock, MN. When Angie is working tirelessly to help her clients, she is a busy mom making sure her sons make it to Go-Kart races, basketball, and football practice. She continues to help her community through elementary basketball, school dances, and various activities during the school year. She also likes to spend time camping, snowmobiling, and attending race events in Greenbush.

Janelle joined Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd in 2006. Prior to joining Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese, Ltd, she worked as a bank teller for United Valley Bank in East Grand Forks and Hallock.

Janelle is an alumni of Northland Community and Technical College (NCTC). She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting in 2003.

Janelle is married to her husband, Erik, and they have two children, Marcus (11) and Hayley (9). They live on their farmstead just outside of Hallock. Janelle is involved with various activities at Red River Lutheran Church and Hallock Youth Hockey. She enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and 2 cats, hanging out with friends, competing in 5k's, and making sure her kids are getting to all of their sport and school activities.

Katie joined Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd in 2022. Prior to joining Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese Ltd, Katie was a Licensed Practical Nurse with Kittson Memorial Hospital Association in Hallock, MN.

Katie earned her Associates in Practical Nursing from Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN.

Kate is married to her husband, Cody, and they have two boys, Gordon (4), and Elliot (2) and a third child on the way. When Katie is not helping our office run, she loves to spend time at Maple Lake, camping with friends, and ice fishing at Lake of the Woods. She also spends time at her family farm 4wheeling, snowmobiling, and visiting the animals.

Barb is a graduate of Moorhead Technical College. Prior to coming to Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese, Ltd., she worked at the Kittson Memorial Hospital and Northwestern State Bank in Hallock.

Barb has been with Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese, Ltd. since 1994. Her excellent communication skills, along with experience and knowledge of the film's procedures and policies, make the flow and detail of Dahl, Hatton, Muir & Reese what they are today.

Barb and her husband, Kirk, live in Hallock and have three daughters, Kate (Justin) Thompson, Natalie (Jeremiah) Halley, and Cara (Kevin) Peterson. They have four grandchildren (Jordan, Landon, Henry and Leighton). Besides keeping busy with family, Barb enjoys fishing, camping, gardening, and working on DIY projects. Barb is an active member of Red River Lutheran Church and various community organizations.
